Businesses I Trust in Festus, Missouri

Finding a contractor you can trust is like striking gold. When your home needs a repair or replacement, the last things you need are uncertainty and hidden fees. You want the job done right—on time and on budget. Is that so much to ask?

I don’t think so. That’s why, when I hire contractors in the Festus area, I’m looking for prompt customer service, an excellent track record, and, of course, the expertise to bring a project together.

As a realtor here in the great state of Missouri, my standard for contractors is higher than most. Not only do I rely on them for help with my home, but I need to be able to trust them with my clients’ houses as well. That means I’m looking for consistency and reliability in all areas.

I’m often asked for my master list of trusted contractors, which I’m happy to provide. You’re in the right place if you’re about to take on a remodeling project. These are the businesses I call whether I need a quick repair or a full system reset:

Handyman | Doug DuVall | (314) 803-1111

Not long ago, we had a leaking basement in our rental home. The previous owner didn’t complete the drain tile in the finished half-bathroom, so Doug tore that bathroom out, let the drain tile team do their work, and then installed a full bath. Doug also did a great job giving us updates and options along the way. I can’t recommend his services highly enough.

Plumber | Madonna’s Septic and Sewer Solutions | Bryon Madonna | (314) 486-8241

It’s always a good idea to have Bryon’s number on hand. He and his team handle installing, maintaining, and repairing septic and sewer systems. When things go drip, drip, splash in the night, these are your guys.

Septic Engineer | Drury Property Services | Daniel Drury | (314) 220-9016

This local company is a one-stop shop for all your septic needs. System design, assessment, survey—you name it, they can help. They also handle well water testing, structural inspection, and more.

Roofer | John Bourbon Roofing | John Bourbon | (314) 800-4487

I don’t know about you, but I like to keep rainwater right where it belongs: outside. When the roof of our rental home was leaking, I gave John a call, and he did an excellent job with the replacement. I frequently recommend his services to my clients.

Electrician | TRAK Electric | Troy Schneider | (314) 603-0278

My wife and I are part owners of a local daycare, and Troy has done great work for us over there. TRAK handles everything from installation to repair, so save their number to your contact list.

HVAC | Partney Heating & Cooling | (636) 475-9384

One thing I love about Partney is its maintenance plan, which is designed to fit your property’s needs (and your budget). Said plan includes biannual A/C and furnace checks, discounted parts, air filter changes, and more. Whether it’s your heating system, air conditioner, or air ducts, the Partney team has you covered. (Plus, they have the best mascot—our friend Bill, the yellow lab.)

Landscaper | The Mulchman | Josh Deimund | (573) 535-1769

If you’re looking to improve your home’s curb appeal this autumn, give our resident Mulchman a call. He specializes in edging, retaining walls, total yard transformations, mulch, and rock. Josh also offers free estimates, so don’t hesitate to reach out.

Painter | Ritter Painting Services | Todd Ritter | (573) 880-9450

When my clients are preparing their homes to sell, I often recommend a fresh coat of paint to increase market value and decrease market time. This is where Todd Ritter comes in. He’s great with estimates, color selection, and, of course, painting.

Waterproofer | E.S. Leonard Contracting | Eric Leonard | (314) 556-5797

If there’s one thing no one wants in their homes, it’s mold, and that’s part of what makes Eric’s job so vital. Not only can he waterproof your basement (as he did for our rental home), but he can also repair your foundation, mitigate your stormwater, and more. When Eric’s team is on the job, you can rest assured that your family’s health is in good hands.

Though each of these businesses has a different specialty, they all have one thing in common: communication skills. Crises never look quite as dramatic in hindsight, but these companies understand the present-moment panic of a water leak, malfunctioning heater, or power outage. My suggestion is to bookmark this page for easy access if you need it (or in case you decide to take on a fun remodeling project!).

And if you’re happy with any of the services above, be sure to recommend them to your friends. The Festus area thrives on this kind of positivity.
